KinderSteps
KinderSteps is a fun and supportive program that helps young children get ready for Kindergarten. Led by an occupational therapist, this group gives kids the chance to learn important skills through play, movement, and hands-on activities. KinderSteps is for children ages 3–5 who are getting ready to start Kindergarten. It’s also great for families who want to help their child build confidence before school begins.
Each session helps children build the skills they need for a strong start in school. We focus on:
-
Fine motor skills – holding a pencil, cutting, and using their hands
-
Gross motor skills – balance, jumping, and body coordination
-
Following directions – learning to listen, understand, and complete simple tasks
-
Self-help skills – putting on shoes, opening containers, and washing hands
-
Social skills – sharing, taking turns, and playing with others
-
Routines & attention – learning to sit, focus, and participate in a group
