reFRESH Market Volunteer
Purpose:
We are seeking a volunteer to prepare recovered groceries from local grocery stores for our weekly reFRESH community market, ensuring food is safe, organized, and ready for distribution.
Key Duties:

Sort donated groceries by type and quality

Remove and compost spoiled items
-
Recycle packaging where possible
-
Carry and lift boxes or bins of groceries (may require bending and reaching)

Maintain a clean and organized work area, including washing recovery bins and packaging
Skills & Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Clear criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector)

Comfortable working in a team environment

Attention to detail and commitment to food safety

Van/truck to load and transport groceries
Time Commitment:
3 hours on Wednesdays (starting at approximately 11:30am)
