Our mission is to enhance and support the quality of life for Cowichan Lake area residents. We will strive to do this through education, prevention, recreation, counselling and support groups. It is also our aim to work together with other service agencies in an integrated approach.

Community Outreach Team

Meeting since 2003, the Community Outreach Team serves to:

  • Increase communication within the Cowichan Lake communities.
  • Work together as a community to address issues affecting families living in the Cowichan Lake area and find ways to support families to handle these issues.

The objectives of this team are to:

  • Meet monthly with other professionals, service providers, and community people.
  • Share information on issues that are seen (i.e. bullying, absenteeism at school, lack of food, employment, abuse, vandalism).
  • Formulate plans to tackle the issues that affect families.
  • Formulate plans to help families be successful.

Anyone who has contact with families in various aspects of their lives is welcome to attend:

  • Schools
  • Church/Food bank
  • Counsellors
  • Employment counsellors
  • Social workers
  • Recreation
  • RCMP
  • Health care providers
  • Daycare workers
  • Chamber of Commerce
