Are you looking for work, thinking about education or training? Are you in need of a job change or just starting out?

Our Employment Counsellors assist clients in obtaining their individual goals with referrals to programs through Employment Insurance and the Provincial Government Labour Market Agreements. See our new upcoming program "Assertiveness Training" below.

Resources Room

The Community Services Employment Centre’s Resource Room offers 3 computers with internet access for job search, career research and employment planning.

Microsoft Word is used for resume and cover letter development and a telephone is available for contacting prospective employers.

We have a job board with up to date postings for the Cowichan Valley and beyond as well as classifieds from Victoria and Duncan.

In addition to local job postings we have accurate information on searching for employment in the oil fields, mining, and forestry should you have to relocate for work. We also offer free photocopies and faxing at our reception desk.

Assertiveness Training

Begins October 7th
Wednesdays 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Assertiveness training teaches individuals to communicate with others in a way which is direct, honest, and appropriate. The training includes topics such as: Anger management, self esteem, and conflict resolution. The group runs for 8 weeks. Contact Community Services if you are interested.
