Our mission is to enhance and support the quality of life for Cowichan Lake area residents. We will strive to do this through education, prevention, recreation, counselling and support groups. It is also our aim to work together with other service agencies in an integrated approach.

Parents and their 0-5 year olds are welcome to this drop-in Wednesday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 am. There is a mix of great socialization for children, building support networks and relationships for parents, as well as enhancing resources for families. Learn to have fun together and reduce stress. Amanda facilitates this program. There is no cost. This drop-in group runs from September to June, with a break in the summer.
The focus of this group is to teach parents new activities, crafts, rhymes, songs and stories to enjoy with their children as they connect with other parents in the community. The environment is fun, safe and relaxed.
Research has demonstrated that stories, songs and rhymes can have a profound impact on child development and on the parent-child relationship.
Stories, songs and rhymes are useful tools in soothing babies, entertaining toddlers and playing with pre-schoolers. Parents that interact with their children through rhymes, songs and book encourage:
In addition, the comfortable atmosphere of this playgroup helps parents encourage each other and allows babies and children to play as they develop social skills.
